The new Office for Electromobility started operations today. The Office has been set up by the Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWI) and the Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development (BMVBS) in order to pool activities and competences on electromobility. It is located at the Minstry of Economics and Technology.
The Office for Electromobility will support the government in implementing and further developing the National Electromobility Development Plan, so as to reach its aim to make Germany a leading market for electromobility and have 1 million electric cars on German roads in 2020. In addition, the Office will organise events such as the top level talks of the relevant industries with Chancellor Angela Merkel on 3 May 2010 and an international conference.
