The new EEG 2.0 introduces new provisions on the regular monthly reduction of support for PV installations as of 1 August 2014. For September we will have a fixed degression of 0.5%. As of 1 October degression will be modified quarterly based on the installed capacity of PV installations in relation to the new target corridor.

According to recent data by the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE) German electricity exports increased in the first half of 2014. On their new energy charts website they report the export surplus to neighbouring countries is approx. 18 TWh after the first six months, while it had been only 14.4 TWh in the first half of 2013. Most of the electricity is exported to the Netherlands, followed by Austria, Switzerland and Poland. Especially the Netherlands and Switzerland also act as transit countries to the UK or Italy.
German costumers of electricity and gas shall receive a fully itemised bill explaining how the respective energy price is composed. The Federal Ministry of Economy came forward with a new draft ordinance which shall apply to electricity suppliers in charge of universal service (Grundversorgung) in an area.
After the recent EEG amendments RWE Innogy and Naturdünger Münsterland (NDM) have cancelled their plan to jointly erect and operate a biogas plant in North Rhine-Westphalia.
